Hole in one. / Aja jälg kivis.

I found these stones ages ago (not in stone-age, though…). On a class trip to one of Estonia’s islands – Saaremaa.

I had never seen so many stones with holes in them! I mean with perfect holes so that you can make a necklace of it.

There’s something about plain smooth stones that have been picked on the beach. I guess it’s their calming effect. A stone doesn’t have to be precious to have a meaning. If you pick the stones yourself you can also give them their own meaning.

I’ve never actually worn this stone necklace. I guess I haven’t found its true meaning yet. But it is of course the best souvenir one can have from a trip.

*************

Ma korjasin need kivid aastaid tagasi (küll mitte kiviajal…) ühel klassiekskursioonil Saaremaal.

Ma polnud mitte kunagi näinud nii palju aukudega kivisid! Selliste aukudega, kust saab nööri läbi ajada ja niimoodi kividest kaelakee teha.

Rannalt korjatud siledates kivikestes on alati midagi vastupandamatut. Neil on ilmselgelt rahustav efekt. Vääriskivid pole ainsad, millel tähendus ja väärtus on. Kui oled kivikesed ise korjanud, saad neile ise ka tähenduse anda. See ongi asja võlu.

Ma ei ole seda kividest kaelakeed küll kunagi kandnud. Võib-olla ma pole tema  tõeliselt tähendust veel leidnud. Kindlasti on see aga parim suveniir, mille saab reisilt tuua.
