Making acorn coffee. / Tammetõrukohv.

I love, love, love coffee! I live for it.

I’ve been wanting to try to make acorn coffee for a long time and finally tried it out.

In autumn I gathered acorns from the oak trees in the wild. I peeled the acorns.

Then I chopped them up and roasted in the oven.

This spring I finally used them for making coffee. The coffee is made regular way, like you would make it from coffee beans.

Acorns.

The taste was very intersting. Bitter, reminding more of tea than coffee. I actually liked it better with milk and sugar.

Totally worth trying out! Especially if you make it from scratch!

****************
