Drinking coffee elsewhere. / Kus on kohvi kodu?

You’ve probably heard that a good coffee saves a bad meal. Well… I wouldn’t stay for a coffee in a place where the food was no good. I’d go to have coffee elsewhere.

(I have a book on my bookshelf called “Drinking coffee elsewhere.” by ZZ Packer. I’ve never read it so I’m not sure if it talks about coffee at all… Have you read it maybe?)

Anyway… Yes, I think you should drink coffee in the places that make really excellent coffee. You should drink coffee in the places where coffee “lives”.

I am always looking for a new place for having coffee. And it’s the best thing to find it before everybody else does. This means that I can enjoy it before the crowds come in and I can always sit at my favourite table…

Of course any coffee place needs crowds and it’s fine by me – I’m actually into people watching a lot. It’s my hobby.

I have already introduced you to the new Björn espresso bar on Maakri Street, Tallinn. I’ve actually spent so much time there that I should call it my second home.

They serve quality coffee (and speciality coffees!) and the place has got this lovely vibe that just makes you come back. Last time I asked for permission to take some photos as the espresso bar is packed with interesting details. The chairs (brought from India), the different glasses, cups and mugs, the brick walls… And they have got a fireplace which they actually use!

And look how prettily they serve water (in the green glass with pomegranate seeds). Even the cappuccino is too pretty to drink! And it tastes like… Well, you have to try it. A cup of gold, I’d say.

So the only thing I can’t wait for is the opening of the terrace.

Yes, Björn espresso bar is where coffee lives now.

*******************************

Öeldakse, et hea kohv päästab halva eine. Ausalt öeldes ma ei tea, miks peaksite üldse jääma kohvi jooma kohta, kus söök oli halb. Mina soovitaksin teil kohvi mujal juua.

Kohvi peaks jooma seal, kus osatakse seda suurepäraselt valmistada. Otsige head kohvi sealt, kus on kohvi “kodu”.

Mina olen alati uue mõnusa kohvikoha otsinguil.

Mulle meeldib inimesi vaadelda. See on minu hobi.

Isegi see, kuidas nad vett serveerivad, võtab silma särama – rohelises klaasis koos punaste granaatõunaseemnetega.

Kohvi kodu on praegu kindlasti Björn espresso baaris.
