Cheap no chic? / Odav lõbu.

It’s said that stylish women never wear cheap jewellery. I do believe that.

Then again: do stylish women ever have fun? Because it is fun to buy a piece that looks like a million dollars but doesn’t cost more than a few bucks. And, yes, yes – it IS possible. The only thing you have to keep in mind while buying cheap jewellery is that it has to look expensive. And I don’t mean fake expensive. It has to have some style. It has to mean something to you.

Last time in London I went crazy in the charity shops. I was especially hung on the idea of finding an outstanding ring and boy, did I find a lot of rings. I found a ring for every finger and on my way home I stacked them all on! Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I don’t have a picture of that craziness. But it was fun for me in that moment.

I got tired of most of the rings in a few months. They only cost about 2£ each so I was not sad to get rid of them (I don’t like to keep things that I don’t use).

I gave some away, but as no-one wanted the rest I decided to get rid of them creatively. For example I left one on the bench on the beach in summer. I even saw someone picking it up! I hope she was glad. (Don’t you love to find stuff? I do.)

Can you have such fun with expensive jewellery? I don’t think so.

Here is a necklace that I also got from a charity shop in London. I’m gonna keep this one as I absolutely love it.

See peab välja nägema stiilne. See peab sinu jaoks midagi tähendama.

Kui ma viimati Londonis käisin, oli mul kinnisidee leida endale heategevuspoodidest (charity shops) silmapaistev sõrmus. Mul läks hästi – ma leidsin endale sõrmuse iga sõrme jaoks ja koju tulles kandsingi neid kõiki korraga. Kahjuks (õnneks) pole mul sellest hullusest ühtegi fotot. Tol hetkel tundus see lihtsalt lõbus.

Kas kalliste ehetega saab endale sellist lõbu lubada? Muidugi mitte.

Pildil on kaelakee, mille ostsin samuti Londoni heategevuspoest.
